'Genius!' cries a voice from beyond our rather excluding but exclusive Apple Macs. A days endless clicking and sometimes rather infuriated typing has finally paid off for Lorraine, and the result is definitely worth the effort. Any newcomer to this thriving business would certainly be inspired by such flare as this.
However, it strikes me as I peer round to have a sneak peak at Lorraine's final design, that in any normal circumstance I wouldn't give a second thought to this type of average promotional web page. In fact, I'd probably close the screen in a moment of frustration, crossly muttering as I ask myself why on earth I would want to enter another contract or why I would give two hoots about buying this or winning that!
Truth is, it only takes a few days in this enormously atmospheric office, immersing yourself in the wonderful world of Adobe design, to realise the immense amount of work that goes into such business and product promotions, and the emotions when something just works, the latter already proven by an enthusiastic Lorraine. Perhaps now, whilst I'm scouting the Internet for the latest fashions, I'll think twice about hastily closing spontaneously appearing sites. In fact, my 'behind the scenes' experience will probably leave me feeling guilt ridden at the thought of it!
I have been working here at Brackenhill for almost two weeks as my year 10 Work Experience. To be honest I'd be quite happy to remain working here, even without a salary! The variety is incredible, with clients returning for job after job, from as far away as China. There has certainly never been a spare moment to sit and twiddle my thumbs and neither has there been a day without a moment of hysterical laughter from all in the office. The barn conversion, in which the office is situated, feels like I haven't even left the house. It's pleasant, inviting and most certainly a place to let your imagination flow, I could even bring my most un-arty friend here, and can assure you that they would create a masterpiece.
Chris, Andrew, Simon and Lorraine have got to be some of the most polite and sociable people I have ever worked with, and can always find time to help out this pesky teenager who still can't manage to draw a circle in illustrator.
